Who is the Indigenous Education Council (IEC)?

McMaster University’s Indigenous Education Council, (IEC) is the primary body responsible for promoting and advocating for the advancement of Indigenous education at McMaster. You can find the list of IEC members here.

What does the Indigenous Education Council (IEC) do?

The IEC champions the needs of Indigenous students, staff, and faculty members, and provides advice and support to the University on all Indigenous matters.

Through a campus-wide collective effort with Indigenous groups, a new strategy has been developed by the Indigenous Education Council and McMaster Indigenous Research Institute.

Indigenous Strategic Directions will guide the University with four main strategic goals of research, education, student experience and leadership and governance.
